weekend things
sundays leave me so conflicted.
i love having the day off, being able to sleep in, the ability to relax
yet, i'm still left with that lingering understanding that life gets back to normal in less than 24 hours
and i have five days before i can do it all again
there's always this looming "tomorrow is monday" feeling in the back of my mind
and sunday nights always seem to be the most difficult.
mondays, on the other hand, no matter how much i dread them
kind of rejuvenate me in this weird way.
it no longer feels like the end of a good thing, but a new beginning
and it doesn't hurt that they usually go by faster than i always expect them to.
and hopefully the entire week goes that exact same way, because i'm already counting the hours until the weekend.
but backing up a day, this weekend couldn't have been any more awesome (or jam-packed)
a few of the highlights:
dinner with the boyfriend's family
an almost-summer like hike
a big iced latte
stumbling upon folk art festivals
purple sunglasses
sitting in the sunshine in the park
museums
walking almost everywhere
a table by the window
champagne
hours upon hours with my other half
a nice slow dinner
friends
talking until 4am
coffee in bed
a bike ride with dad
late afternoon wine on the patio
a cuddly kitty

You Are My Happy
Just a few things that have made me oh-so-happy as of late:
1. rainy afternoons spent sipping latte's (oh look, there i go again with soy lattes)
2. falling asleep the minute you put your head on your pillow - and crashing out all night. sleep just isn't the same as you get older, now, is it?
3. clean sheets, and clean towels, and clean pajamas.
4. kitties. kitties will always and forever make me so happy. and so will a trip to "kitty city" on a sort-of down feeling afternoon.
5. staying up until 6am - but just every now and then.
6. downton abbey. um yeah, i got sucked into it.
7. exercise. i am a much nicer human being when there is exercise in my life.
8. and gladiator battles on play station move. holy workout - and some pretty awesome couples therapy if you ever need it.
9. getting unexpected checks in the mail. someone is officially a hundred or so dollars richer for no good reason.
10. lunch dates with mom. i don't get mom-time nearly enough as an adult.
11. yoga. stretchy, calming yoga.
12. home cooked meals. oh mom, you better believe i took those for granted. saltine crackers and bananas with peanut butter do not compare to what you used to feed me.
13. falling asleep on boyfriend while he stays up watching tv. yes, i know you probably don't love it, but I do.
14. cherry tomatoes. and chocolate chip cookies. yeah, mostly cookies.
4/17/13
back soon.
oh hello,
i've been a bit absent lately, haven't i? well i promise it's all for good.
i've been a busy busy girl
taking advantage of this whole life-is-pretty-awesome thing.
and loving it.
just a few of the wonderful things i've been enjoying include:
multiple 4-day weekends
yoga classes with mom
weekend getaways
jumping on the bed
{yeah, i did that}
big, fluffy hotel bathrobes
swimming
{you know, in a crater}
saltine crackers with butter
copious amounts of hot and cold soy lattes
a saturday matinee
and a lazy monday afternoon
complete with olives, cheese, and bread for dinner
sunday dinner with my family
walks in the park
the americans on fx
{have you people watched this show?!}
oysters
staying up talking until 3am
sleeping in
and pretty much all around laughter and happiness
minus a few boughts of unwarranted worry and anxious
but hey, it happens.
anyhow, i hope your life has been just as lovely. i promise i'll be back to regular blogging in the very, very near future.
